Galup is more than a name - it’s an original recipe, a unique way of crafting panettone and colomba, unlike any other. Before Galup, panettone meant only the Milanese kind.
The low one with hazelnut glaze came from an intuition of Pietro Ferrua, born in the Langhe and adopted by Pinerolo. His idea, his recipe - a brilliant and flavorful innovation that reimagined an old Lombard tradition and, just a few years later, inspired a new classic of Piedmontese pastry: the Galup Colomba. Over time, the recipe has evolved, but the soul of this sweet remains. The one Pietro Ferrua gave it, the same that, in just a few years, earned his pastry shop the title of Purveyor to the Royal House of Savoia.
Galup embodies the art of Piedmontese pastry with passion and authenticity - a spirit that lives on through its brands. The Italian Patent and Trademark Office of the Ministry of Economic Development has included Galup’s distinctive mark in the Special Register of Historic Brands of National Interest.
